Adult Sunday School
The Adult Sunday School is led by Pastor Chris Repp and others in the Hoffmeister Room. It meets on Sunday mornings year-round. We meet after the service and coffee hour from 11 a.m. – noon.
Pub Theology
Politics and religion are the two things you’re not supposed to talk about at a dinner party, lest you give rise to a heated argument and spoil the occasion. And yet both religion and politics are among the most important things we have to talk about. They affect our lives in significant ways. We want to give you a chance to talk about religion at least, in an informal setting outside of Church. During Pub Theology, we gather at a local bar to talk about matters of faith over an adult beverage or two. See the GraceNotes for the next scheduled meeting.
On The Way
On The Way is an opportunity for new, potential, and existing members to explore the Christian faith and its practices. It meets typically for five weeks in the fall, five weeks during Lent in the spring, and then a few more weeks between Easter and Pentecost (April-May.) The model for On The Way traces its origins to the early church. The pattern for our time together is threefold. We start with a presentation on a topic related to the faith, which especially in the fall is focused on the questions of those new to the group. We will then spend time with a biblical text. Here we focus on listening, both to the text and to one another. This is meant to be a process of discovery, in conversation with one another, and sometimes with those who have gone before us in the faith through their writings. We finish each session with a time of directed prayer that may include one-on-one conversation, silent prayer, and, always finishes with formal liturgical prayer. The goal is to make time each week to focus on our relationship with God, and to become more comfortable with the question Jesus asks his disciples: “Who do you say that I am?” See the Conections Newsletter and GraceNotes for the schedule of meetings.
Women of the ELCA (WELCA)
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
We strive to mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.
Faith Circle
Faith Circle meets for devotions and conversation on the third Tuesday evening of the month from September through May, unless otherwise announced. Meetings are held in the Narthex beginning with refreshments and fellowship at 7:00 p.m.
